About this role
We are looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join a growing technology company serving the outdoor recreation market. This is a fully remote, outbound-focused sales role targeting small and medium-sized businesses across the U.S., working U.S.
Eastern Time (EST) hours.The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, persistent, self-motivated, and comfortable speaking directly with local business owners. You will introduce businesses to an advertising platform that helps them reach outdoor enthusiasts while they are planning and taking their trips, with the primary goal of generating qualified meetings for the sales team.
Responsibilities Prospect small and medium-sized businesses through phone, email, and other outbound channels. Make approximately 50–60 outbound calls per day. Engage directly with business owners and marketing decision-makers. Target hotels, inns, restaurants, powersports dealers, rental operators, outfitters, attractions, retail shops, and other businesses serving outdoor travelers.
Clearly communicate the platform's advertising value proposition and generate interest. Book qualified meetings for the sales team. Follow up with prospects generated through outbound campaigns, partnerships, marketing efforts, and inbound inquiries. Manage outreach, follow-ups, conversations, and next steps in HubSpot.
Help identify effective messaging and repeat successful outreach strategies across new markets and regions. Potentially take on more of the sales cycle as the company's sales process develops.
Requirements 2+ years of SDR, BDR, inside sales, or similar outbound sales experience preferred. Excellent conversational English with strong verbal communication skills and a natural, professional phone presence. Strong experience with high-volume outbound calling and cold outreach. Experience selling to small and medium-sized businesses is highly preferred.
